(upbeat music) - Utah Division of Arts & Museums' state-wide annual exhibition is a juried exhibition that presents a survey of current outstanding visual art by Utah-based artists.

Peter Hay and Kasey Lou Lindley are here with more information.

Hi, welcome both.

We're gonna start with you, Peter, since you are with the Division of Arts & Museums.

So tell us about the annual exhibition and how you find the artist.

- Yeah, thanks for having us on.

So the state-wide annual is an open call, so any artist that lives in Utah can apply.

And they submit two artworks that then are juried by out-of-state jurors to have that objective look at the work.

And this year we had a juror from Buffalo, New York named Ben Hickey, who's a curator and executive director of a gallery, and then Anh-Thuy Nguyen, who's a photographer and multimedia artist based in Tucson, Arizona.

- [Mary] All right, and I take it that you have a variety of medium or media featured?

- Yeah, well, as you can imagine, there's a lot of artists in Utah, so we can't accept every category every year.

So we rotate themes.

And this year was specific for artwork that is photo, digital, craft and video.

So we just accepted works in those categories this year.

- Okay, and I know Kasey, you get to host it this year at the Ogden Museum of Contemporary Art.

So tell us about that and how that's affecting the museum.

- Well, so we are very excited about this partnership.

We did partner with the Utah Statewide Annual the year before last as well, and had a really wonderful experience with that bringing in Utah artists into our space.

And so we always just love seeing all the variety of works and talent that is in Utah.

- Great, and I know you're gonna present the ACA Award, so it's great.
