(upbeat music) - Utah Division of Arts and Museums 125th Anniversary Exhibition spotlights more than a hundred treasures in a rare public exhibition.
And here with important information, Reilly Jensen and Liz Setterberg.
Hi Reilly and Liz, let's start with you, Reilly.
So why don't you tell us about the exhibition and some of what's in it and and why do it?
- Yeah, well, so this is an exhibition that shares 125 years of the history of the Utah Division of Arts and Museums.
We're the first state arts agency in the nation, and this exhibition helps us share not only our history, but the communities that we support and how that has changed over time and grown.
And so our exhibition includes things like early master art, early masterworks for Maynard Dixon, LeConte Stewart, and more.
It's a free exhibition open to all until March 15th, I think.
- Yeah, and in an absolutely beautiful, stunning Utah Valley University museum.
- Oh, it's gorgeous.
- Yeah, okay, and Liz, I know you're an archivist.
Why don't you tell us like how you went through archives to select things?
- Yeah, so we really wanted to focus on these historical documents that highlighted our organizational history, but also show how much we've impacted the artistic and cultural heritage of Utah.
So we selected our annual reports from over the years, brochures for annual art exhibits.
So these documents not only show our impact, but visually just connect to all the art trends over the years.
And they're just really fantastic to look at really beautiful colors.
They're just fantastic.
- Great, great.
And I know the whole thing was founded by a woman.
- Oh, it was.
- Yes.
- All right, well thank you both for being here.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
- And if you'd like to know more about that exhibit at the, it's Utah Division of Arts and Museums for the 125th Anniversary.
It goes through March 15th, and it's at the UVU Museum of Art, which is an incredible building, must see, go to artsandmuseums.utah.gov, artsandmuseums.utah.gov.
I'm Mary Dickson.
