(upbeat music) - "This is Utah" celebrates the diverse stories that make Utah an exceptional place full of new and unique experiences, landmarks, cultures, and people.
Host Liz Adeola is here to tell us about new episodes launching on YouTube May 7.
Hey, Liz, thanks for being here.
- Hi, Mary, thanks for having me.
- Yeah, so it's so great that you've got these on YouTube to make them so accessible to everyone.
- Oh yeah, absolutely.
It's coming out in the summer.
People travel, they can watch anywhere, anytime, on any screen.
And so we're really excited to launch on YouTube.
- Yeah, don't we love being able to have that to go to.
(laughing) - Yeah.
- Yeah.
So it's great to see.
So talk about the mix of stories you've got coming up.
- Oh wow, I've been working on a piece about polyglots in Utah and how they have a big conference and competition where they compete to see who's the best polyglot.
We're doing a story on neon lights returning to State Street and a project that local artists are doing with that.
We're also doing a story about soccer in Utah and the youth soccer movement and how that all began back in the '90s with the Utah Blitz.
And so there's so many stories that we're covering.
Another one that I know a lotta people are excited about, "Antiques Roadshow."
- Oh yeah.
- We're going behind the scenes, and we're gonna be the behind-the-scenes pass for people if they aren't able to get tickets to get in.
But we're gonna showcase what happens and what it takes to put on a program like "Antiques Roadshow."
- Because boy, it's a big production.
And having been here when it came to Salt Lake before, there's a lot involved.
- Oh yes, yes.
- Yeah.
- Lots of details.
- Yeah.
So you'll get to do that.
And what are they doing that on, June 3, I think?
- Mm hmm.
- Yeah.
- Beginning of June.
- Yeah.
You've got so much coming up.
Like what are some that you're especially excited about?
- Oh wow, so we're also, along with the longer stories that our audience is used to, we're also gonna be doing shorter-form stories as well.
And I've been able to reach out to some very interesting people to talk about pieces like linguistic diversity, the point of view signs that are outside of the Salt Palace.
I spoke to the artist behind those.
We're talking also about vintage signs, just a lot of fun stuff.
- Great stuff.
Well, it sounds good and I'm glad people can go to YouTube.
And thanks so much for being here.
- Yeah, thank you.
- And if you'd like to know more about all those episodes and shorts coming up on "This is Utah," the new episodes begin May 7 online at YouTube.com/pbsutah.
So go there before they broadcast.
I'm Mary Dickson.
Thanks for watching "Contact."
