(bright music) - Step into "Tell Your Tale," Mental Healthy FiT's live storytelling series featuring true unfiltered stories from everyday voices.
And joining us to tell us more is Jillian Tirado.
Hi Jillian.
Thanks for being here.
So I love this whole concept of storytelling and because it's February, you've got a specific theme.
- Yes.
So every "Tell Yer Tale" will have its own theme.
This month is "Unrequited,"in with the Valentine's Day theme So love, lost, found, reclaimed.
We just want people to tell their stories surrounding that theme of unrequited love.
Or Requited.
- Or requited.
Okay.
So, and I know you've got four set guests.
- We do.
- Who will be telling stories.
- Those are surprises though.
So you'll have to watch our social media accounts.
We'll be announcing those as we get closer.
- And you ask audience members if they'd like to participate.
- Yes, but not in a scary way.
Not in a like if you're there, you might get dragged into audience participation kind of way.
It's very much if you are in our audience and you are someone who would like to tell your story, we will be taking four volunteers from the audience who want to tell their stories.
- Okay.
And I think people really do wanna tell their stories.
- They do.
Yeah.
They're really into it.
You know, we started "Tell Yr Tale" because Salt Lake post-pandemic kind of lost community storytelling.
And so we wanted to bring that back.
And our December event was completely full, very popular.
And it seems like we're headed in a really great direction with it.
- Well, it's great because I think stories are the best way to communicate truly.
- Absolutely, yeah.
- So it's nice you do it.
Okay, so tell us about Mental Healthy FiT.
- Mental Healthy FiT is a non-profit organization here in Salt Lake, but we work all throughout the state.
We go into schools, into community centers, into job places.
We want to promote mental health education through our organization.
FiT stands for F-I-T, films, ideas and tips, and that is how we promote mental health education.
- Wonderful idea.
Anyway, it's a great thing you're doing and thanks so much for being here.
- Absolutely.
Thank you.
- And if you'd like to know more about Mental Healthy FiT's upcoming "Tell Yer Tale," it's February 5th, 7:00 PM at Level Cross Brewing Company, which is 2496 South West Temple.
