(upbeat music) - Salt Lake Acting Company is presenting its summer show, "The Secret Lives of the Real Wives in the Salt Lake Hive".

Executive Artistic Director, Cynthia Fleming, is here to tell us more about the summer production.

Hi Cynthia, thanks for being here.

So this is just your fun show of the summer.

- Yes.

- Okay.

So let's talk about the "Real Wives".

- Well, I feel like the stars have aligned because "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" is the hottest TV show everywhere.

My friends in New York and LA are talking about it that have never even been to Utah.

And so you'll get to see them, our version, on SLAC's stage.

And it's a great vehicle to show the weirdness, the quirkiness, bringing in some of the famous local people and the famous national people, and a lot of surprises on our stage.

- Oh wow.

Okay, so how do you go about putting it all together?

- Well, it's a musical parody, and so that means that we get to use songs, well-known songs like Loathing from Tithing and Macho Man from The Village People.

And it's a development, rehearsal is like developing the play.

And we have the perfect actors, incredible writers, wonderful designers.

And I get a front row seat to watch the magic.

And it never gets old for me to watch people create such incredible, beautiful, fun things so our audience can laugh themselves silly this summer.

- That's what we need, we need laughs.

- More than ever now.

- Yeah.

- More than ever.

Come to SLAC, yeah, to laugh.

- Oh yeah.

Okay, so who's in it this year?

So you're going to see people who've been to Salt Lake Acting Company.

A part of the actors, there's some veteran actors that you've known and some new actors.

Some of the famous people that we're going to see, I'm not sure I want to tell you because it's a element of surprise besides the mom, the wives, the moms.

The Mormon mom, well, MomTok, which you'll see.

You'll just have to come and see, I think.

- All right, will do.
