(upbeat music) - Ogden Nature Center is holding a free film screening of "The Beaver Believers" on International Beaver Day.
Communications Manager, Brandi Bosworth is here to tell us all about the film.
Hi, Brandi, so glad you're here.
So this film's played all over, bumped everywhere.
So tell us a little about it.
- So this is, I haven't seen it myself, but I'm excited to see it.
It's a little story about how beavers, what they contribute to our environment and how they are nature's engineers, which is really true.
They create waterways and help our watersheds in so many ways.
- [Mary] I know, and this features like a whole group, a pretty varied group of like scientists, a spicy hairdresser, they say.
- Yeah, so it should be a fun story.
But I think it's bringing home the point that beavers, they truly create ecosystems by building dams.
And it's innate inside their personalities.
They build these dams that weave and flow our waterways and create natural filters, and really, and improve the environment.
- Yeah, and I think a lot of people are realizing how important they are to the environment and to our whole ecosystem.
And I know you said your daughter has been working on this issue.
- Yeah, her undergrads, some of her undergrad study was beaver dam analogs.
So I know a little bit about the beaver world.
- And so tell me where the film is and when, and I know people must have to register.
- Sure, so it's Monday, April 7th, and it's at 6:00 PM at the Ogden Nature Center.
It'll be in our LS Peery Education Building.
And you just get on our website, ogdennaturecenter.org and find the Beaver Believers and register.
It's free, but we do wanna keep track of numbers.
We have limited seating, so we are keeping track.
- Ah, it's wonderful.
Well, thank you so much for being here, and thank you for helping people understand how important these animals are.
- Thank you for having me.
