Josh Samson is here with more information.
Hi, Josh.
Thank you so much for being here.
Why don't you start out by telling us about the organization?
- Sure, Mental Healthy F.i.T, you know, we use films, ideas, and tips, that's what the F.i.T stands for.
But we use films, creativity, art, in order to normalize conversations about mental health and try to lift stigma.
So, you know, everybody faces mental health.
- [Mary] Oh, yeah.
- It's not just something that we should deal with when it's like, at a breaking point.
So we're all about just like having those conversations, but in a more kind of fun, interesting, engaging way.
- Well, that's great.
That's great.
So talk about the event and what goes on there.
- So yeah, See it This Way, it's three different nights in May.
So it is the 3rd, the 17th and the 31st.
All of them are from 6 to 10, but the actual like, you know, show is 7 to 9.
And then we're gonna have performances, so there's live performances each time, there's lots of films each time, we have some like, more hands-on activities like theraphotography, therapeutography thing, which is like thinking about how you see yourself, how other people see you, and you take photos to go along with that.
We'll probably have some hands-on arts activities as well that have a reflective mental health focus, 'cause that's kind of what my passion is in this organization.
So all sorts of different things going on just to try to build community and then like watch some films and engage with some artists and there's always, you know, some of that hanging out time on either side so we can just get to know each other a little bit better.
- I think it's great.
And where is it?
Where are they all?
- It's all gonna be at Fit to Recover, which is a gym and fitness area for recovery, but it also has a really nice performance space that's just downtown, like a block away from the ballpark.
So just on Major Street there.
- All right.
Well thank you so much for being here and for what you do.
- Thank you.
- Thank you.
- And if you'd like to know more about that upcoming event of Mental Healthy Utah F.i.T, it's the See it This Way.
It's May 3rd, 17th, and 31st from 6 to 10:00 PM at Fit to Recover.
