(bright music) - One of my favorite summer activities is taking a long walk and being surrounded by nature, art, and creativity.

Lucky for me and for you, the Magna Main Street Arts Festival has all that and more.

Wes and Tammy Furgason join us to explain how this volunteer-powered festival fosters local talent.

Thank you for being here.

- Thank you for having us.

- So tell me about this year's festival.

What can people expect?

- Well, it's August 15th, Saturday.

It's a one-day festival.

We will have an art show in the Magna Library.

That's where we start on the street is at the library, and we kinda just go down the street until we run out of fun things.

But, we have a main stage where we'll have live music.

This year we've got a new feature.

We'll have several chalk artists.

They're doing chalk art demonstrations.

What am I forgetting?

- And also we'll have a book group that comes, that write, they're authors.

And they'll be selling their books and there'll be autographs.

We have, course, wonderful vendors.

The vendors are everybody who's pretty much local who have done their own art.

And it's just amazing arts festival.

- What's it been like to see this festival kind of grow over the years, and develop and change as you guys get more volunteers over time?

- It's been amazing.

It started out really small, and now, give or take, we get about 100 vendors, and we have, like, six food vendors, and we have a lot of people who come just to just enjoy and meet people, and see the art, and buy art.

And the art show started off with, like, a few pictures here and there, and now we have a lot of different kind of displays and everything.

- Oh, I love that.
