(upbeat music) - Ladies in Bloom is holding a pickleball fundraiser tournament to help and empower young women.
And here with all the details about this event is President Jolisna Hong.
Hi Jolisna, thanks for being here.
So why don't you start by telling us about the organization you founded and what you offer young ladies?
- Our organization's here to offer our young ladies to help them with domestic violence, self-love, education, and feminine healthcare.
- Okay, and I know you try to get them through a one year program to help them meet those goals?
- Yes, we do.
- And I think your story, you told me the story of why you started this, and it's very impressive.
You saw a need and you decided to create something.
So tell me how you did that.
- So I'm an owner of a salon called Jojo and Co. Every single day, I work with women and young ladies.
They share a lot of stories with me that are very relatable in their lives that relate with me.
I felt they need a lot of help, and so I couldn't stand on the side anymore not being able to help them more beyond just what's on the outside.
I felt that we definitely needed something that could help them internally and mentally.
- So what you're doing, basically, you're empowering them, which is really important.
And especially at a young age.
So you decided at this age, it's really important.
- Yes, the age is very crucial because that's when emotional and physical foundations are created.
Our biggest thing is looking at our statistics is that 35% of women face domestic violence in their life.
24% face it.
- Wow, so what you're doing is really important and your fundraiser will help with what you're doing.
Thanks so much for what you're doing for being here.
- Yeah, thank you.
- And if you'd like to know more about how you can help Ladies in Bloom with the pickleball fundraiser Tournament, it's March 29th from nine to five at The Picklr in West Jordan.
All funds go to Helping the young women.
Go to ladiesinbloom.com.
