And here to tell us more about the organization is program director Dwayne Cloar.
Hi, Dwayne, thanks so much for being here.
You guys are a well kept secret.
- We are and thank you for having us.
I'm glad to be here to tell you a little bit more about our organization and what we do and that's correct.
We do work with youth and adults and a big part of our program is working with at-risk youth.
And so we have several programs.
A lot of our programs are in school and we really work with our alternative schools, some of our safe schools and even our detention centers.
And so we have three different, three major programs.
We have one called Building Uplifting Relationships.
So we're in the schools and we're teaching healthy relationships and teaching them personal life skills and teaching to prevent violence and violence prevention and consent.
Where we also have our Job Works Program and that's where we're teaching kids how to job etiquette, how to apply for a job.
We teach them resume building and also how to prepare for an interview and do mock interviews and even that's a big part of our summer program.
We just started our summer program this summer and we're continuing to grow.
Last summer, we had five kids.
We have 20 kids in our program this summer and they're in our workshop program right now where they actually do the learning process and then once they finish our eight week program, we provide their food permit handlers and so then we can put them to work this summer so they have an opportunity to actually get a job and work and learn those kind of skills as well and so we're excited about that for the summer.
And we work through our library system to do that in the summer where in the school year, we're in the schools.
- Ah, wonderful work you do.
Really, I mean, you change lives and thank you so much for being here and thanks for what you do.
Thank you.
- Thank you.
